Zachary Moir, a 19-year-old Deltona man was arrested Wednesday night after allegedly assaulting his mother with a taco.

According to the teen's mother, Dena Moir, things got a little out of hand when Zachary Moir refused to quit playing his X-Box and come down for dinner.

Dena told investigators that she had called Zachary Moir down to dinner. When the teen refused to stop playing his X-Box, she says she went upstairs and unplugged the game. Zachary then allegedly pushed his mother and called her a [expletive].

She reportedly went back down into the kitchen to clean up and finish preparing dinner, when the teen finally came down for dinner. He then apologized for being stubborn? Not exactly.

Investigators say the teen slapped his mother and then smashed a taco into her face, scattering food debris all over the kitchen and down his mother's shirt.

"I've been having trouble with him for awhile. He won't work, won't go to school. He's being rude and disrespectful," said Dena. "I thought he went too far, so I called police and he's in jail."

Dena told local reporters that her son has tried to contact her from the jail several times, but she's not picking up the phone yet. She stated that she planned to let him sit in the Volusia County Jail for a few days, hoping he learns a lesson.
